Background: Our client has in the region of 18-25 vehicles on the road all week including weekends. They need to ensure that goods arrive at the destination required and that the vehicles and drivers times, particularly over weekends when the office operates on skeleton staff, were utilised efficiently and accurately.
Requirement: They wanted a real time accurate indication of Stop & start times, location and speed as well as a reporting platform to minimise the administrative labour regarding wages and invoicing.
They were committed to a fleet management solution that met the above requirements but had NOT budgeted for any capital expenditure.
Solution: Fleetrac provided the solution via a GPRS in vehicle modem running on “fleetracweb” software, enabling our client to locate and view real time and historic trip information from more than one office simultaneously.
This solution was delivered and installed with NIL capital Investment. The solution provided a fixed cost lease programme including all ongoing communications from office to the vehicle for a fixed weekly cost.

Our client discovered that within 3 weeks, overtime had halved. Trip times were reduced by a third and subsequently fuel costs. He also discovered that one of his vehicles was working for another company on weekends.
The savings he achieved after just 3 weeks paid for the entire fleets solution for 9 months. The ongoing savings the company made freed up capital which they were able to utilise on a much needed marketing campaign and subsequently increased turnover.
